Project Cost $9,116,384; Size: 77,543 ft²

ZDS provided the HVAC, plumbing and electrical engineering design for the new Shady Spring Junior High School.  The energy efficient design included Direct Digital Controls for remote monitoring and control of the facility’s HVAC systems. Energy effi­cient lighting, motors and equipment were also incorporated into the facility’s systems. Raleigh County Schools elected to be proactive in addressing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) by incorporating many of the recommended practices even before they are required by codes.  Improved filtration, ducted return air system, special consideration into the condensate removal system and providing adequate outside air were included in the HVAC systems.
